Your claim, step by step

A clear path
through your claim.

Every claim is different. Our CLAIM process explains how we work with you and your insurer, from first contact to approved repairs.

The claims process

A clear process.
Support at every step.

Every claim has its own details. Our CLAIM approach keeps the process easy to understand, from your insurer's referral through to the work being completed.

  1. C
    Step 01

    Contact

Once your insurer refers the claim, we get in touch to understand your needs and agree on the right approach.

  2. L
    Step 02

    Liaise

Our assessor or specialist arranges an inspection to evaluate the damage and gather the information needed.

  3. A
    Step 03

    Assess

We prepare a technical report, review the findings and send the assessment to your insurer.

  4. I
    Step 04

    Include

Your insurer reviews the report, discusses your options with you and advises FAMSA of the decision.

  5. M
    Step 05

    Manage

After approval, we coordinate the specialist trades needed for repairs, replacement, restoration or rectification.

Before your inspection

What to expect.

A member of our team will contact you after the insurer’s referral to discuss the appropriate assessment type and arrange an inspection if required.

Appointment arrangements

We do our best to accommodate your preferred dates and times, although specific slots cannot always be guaranteed.

Identifying your assessor

Assessors and tradespeople introduce themselves and show official identification on arrival. Call our office if you need verification.

Inspection time

Most inspections take 30 minutes to one hour. A simpler assessment may take as little as 10 minutes.

New damage or concerns

Tell FAMSA promptly if further issues appear. A reassessment and updated scope may be needed for insurer approval.
